Srinagar (Garhwal) February 18. On the third day of the six-day capacity building program on “Integration of Indian Knowledge Traditions into the Curriculum” organized at Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, in-depth discussions focused on topics such as mathematics, astrology, and chemistry. Welcoming the guest speakers and participants, Prof. D.S. Negi, Director of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Center, highlighted the contemporary relevance of the Indian knowledge tradition. He noted that scholars have discussed the scientific structure of the Sanskrit alphabet as a source of inspiration for solving the challenges faced by the renowned chemist Mendeleev in classifying the periodic table, which underscores the scientific nature of the Indian linguistic tradition.
Dr. Jitendra Kumar of Himachal Central University and Dr. Ankush Sharma of Graphic Era University addressed the sessions, presenting their views on various aspects of the topic. Present on this occasion were UGC supervisor Professor R.L. Narayan Simha, program coordinator Dr. Amarjeet Parihar, Dr. Puneet Walia, and other participants. The program was conducted by Dr. Muskan Kapoor and Dr. Amil Kumar.
